When an individual is using a home as part of his will does there need to be a title search on this property before a will is drawn?

I assume that you mean the person intends to give the property, through their Will, to someone else when they pass away. A title search will reveal the existence of problems with title, such as the existence of any liens and encumbrances. There is no legal requirement that a title search be conducted by the testator (the person making the Will). For peace of mind, however, and to make things easier for the beneficiary, a title search may be something to consider.
