A distance reletive has died and there is unclaimed funds in the NYS controlers office for over 20 years now! Can I claim it as a relitive if I wasn't named in the will ?

If a Will was probated, it specifies who is entitled to share in the estate. The unclaimed funds are part of the estate and only the estate representative can apply for their release.
