Life Insurance question

Our Mom passed away. Found one Life Insurance Policy. Anyway to check to see if she had any more policies. Found premiums being deducted from checking account which we knew about. Can we search public records to find answer?

Re: Life Insurance question

I agree that some detective work has to be done, and this may involve contacting the agent who sold the policy (information should be on any bill) or writing a letter or calling all potential insurance issuers. To my knowledge there are no public records containing this information.

Try writing to each life insurance company licensed to sell in New York, and ask if they have any policies for your mother's life.

Re: Life Insurance question

You are just going to have to search the house of clues since you mom apparently wasn't communicative with anyone. You might find out the agent that sold the policy you found and see if he or she knows of any other policies.
