Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

I live in NY. My Mom passed away. My car loan is in her name and registration. Do I have to notify anyone? or am I alright to just keep paying on the loan, and using her registration until it expires?

While you are able to do that, any insurance in her name is invalid.
