Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Mom died. left one sibling to be the administrator of will. Can remaining siblings read the will.

An administrator is appointed when there is no will. An executor is appointed when there is a will. So, I believe from your question, that the will left a brother or a sister as an executor.

For probate, an executor must distribute the will to the other individuals in the will and those that would inherit if there was no will. Therefore, to answer your question, you - as a brother or sister - are allowed (and should) read the will.

I agree with Mike. If there is a Will, the Executor must give a copy to all people named in it. Anyone can see it at the Surrogate's office.
