My mother has passed away in 2009 and i an trying to find out if i was on her life insurance policy

3 years is a long time to wait to find out this information. You could contact the issuing company, if known, and they would advise you. If there was an executor of her estate, he/she would know also and could be questioned. In all this time, the probability is that if there was a policy, its proceeds have been applied for and distributed, and your not having beeen told anything, presumes you were not a beneficiary.
