Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
My partner died. We owned property as tenants in common. She left the house to me in her will. The will is in probate and the judge is saying I'm responsible for her credit card debt. Am I?

Creditors of the estate must be paid out of estate assets before any distribution to heirsor beneficiaries. You are not personally responsible.
