Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Is there a need to Probate a Will when there are no assets?

My daughter is Administrator of her husband's Will. She is sole-beneficiary on Life Ins., Pension and Deferred Comp. There were no assets.....Does she have to have the WILL Probated in NY? If so, how much does it cost to Probate the WILL ?

No, if there are no assets there is no reason to prove the will by probate.
