I worked for an elderly lay for 16 yrs. she died going on 9 yrs ago. I was left according to her laywyer $3,000,000 and her house. Her family contested the will of which I was never notified. The family went with a 20 yr old will and split the money amonyg themselves. Is this legal or can I still fight this.

Re: Probate a will

A lot more information is needed. 1. How and when did you find out about the will? 2. How and when did you find out about the will that was 20 years old? 3. How and when did you find out about the decision to invalidate the will that left you the estate?

If something was done fraudulently or illegally, you would have grounds to either vacate the Surrogate's Court decision or commence an action against the executor and individual beneficiaries of the estate.
