Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

property

I'm living in a home which is co-owned by my mother and my brother in law, My mother's half is also mine but my name is not on the title. I'm living in this house for over 35 years and pay all the bills, and take care of my mother. How can I take posession of my half before my mother dies? She also has her half in the will for me. Thank you

Re: property

It depends on the form of ownership. I would need to see a copy of the deed. It is on file at the County Clerk's office.

She may be able to deed her half to you now.
