Property Passed On to Non Blood Relative
My grandfather died in 1997 however no one notified myself or my mother. As a result the stepchildren have inherited his home. The principal that they did not notify us has me quite upset.

Re: Property Passed On to Non Blood Relative
If the home was in joint name with the grandfather, with rights of survivorship, it would pass by operation of law and no notification would be required.
If the home was solely in your grandfather's name and you were not notified, you would have grounds to vacate the transfer and/or commence an action against the stepchildren.
