Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Real Estate and Other Transactions

Must all heirs sign at a closing, or just the administrator? What about agreeing on a sale price and signing a contract? Can an administrator do that without anything signed by other heirs, just subject to being questioned after the fact by any heir via the court if there's a question as to whether it may have been the best move for the estate?

If the Letters are not limited, can the administrator just proceed with transactions such as this? Are there any requirements at a real property closing, or possibly pursuing an unrelated law suit on behalf of the estate, as to getting signatures or anything else from other heirs?
