Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Renouncement of specific request

Their father left business to my 2 children; building to be appraised after death and my third child to be bought out. Children asked attorney to change paragraph to 3 children owning all. Children are now selling building & are told they don't own anything. Attorney, in error, renounced a specific request and, consequently, all of the above goes to my 10 year old granddaughter as their heir. Attorney admits error but children are told there is no way to change this and that it is as if they pre-deceased their father. My daughter has to go to court to petition guardianship of her own daughter but is considered deceased due to this. The loss of the sale of the property is at stake; also the loss of alot of their own money that was invested into the business for the past 2 years. Our heads are spinning and don't know where we stand. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Renouncement of specific request

Wow - that's a lot of information. I would have to see everything, but if the attorney is admitting a mistake, it should be able to be fixed. Please feel free to email me for an appointment. Or go to www.sklavoslaw.com for my info.
