Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York
I know that social security checks are actually for the month before you actually receive them..i.e.may's check is for month of april, my father in law has a checking account with both his name and mine on it. he just passed away and i need to pay his bills--
his social security will be deposited in four days. can i keep this
deposit and use it to help pay for final expenses? i don't want to
use the money and then have to try to repay it a year down the
line , as i have no back up money. thank you for any help you can
give me. loretta

Call SS. Advise them of his death. I believe you are correct and will be able to keep the last payment.
