Re: Survivorship

Your facts are unclear. Did he leave a Will? What assets did he leave? How were they registered, individually or in joint names with someone else? How did the title read, joint tenants with right of survivorship or tenants in common? Were you entitled to anything under the Will? How and when was the property acquired? From whom was the property acquired? Property registered joint tenants with right of survivorship transfer by ownership designation, regardless of what a Will says, but ownership designation can take different forms. You need to see the Deed registration to determine your rights. While a parent can disinherit a child, there may be rights you have. More facts are needed and providing answers to my questions may help me give you better responses.
