Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

Testator's Will gives everything to his wife if she survives him, and she survives him but later dies in 3 months without getting a chance to probate his Will. Her daughter wants to probate the Will to take his property. What would the procedure be for her to do that? Can she do that? The Will names Testator's wife as executor.
