time limit
What is the time limit for making a claim against an estate. The party in question died April 8th, 2008.

I would suggest that you file your claim immediately. You are well within the time limits which is usually 6 months from the filing of the will and for probate.
If you do it now you won't forget to do it later.

I agree with Jeffrey, although I am not sure of the exact time limit in NY. In most states it would be 4 months after the date the Will was probated, so better to be safe than sorry, and file ASAP.
