Time limits on contesting a will

My father left a will leaving my mother out of it. She had a will leaving my father out of it. Dad died and now she wants part of the money. Is there a time limit on her to ask for a share?

She is entitled to her elective share, $50,000. Her elective share must be accounted for when the will is probated.

Mike.
