what do u do if the lawyer who prepared grandma's will, in 1973, ??has retired.?

If you still have the original will, you're fine. If you can't locate the attorney (or whomever is taking over the attorney's files) and grandma is still alive and competent, then get a new will drawn up to replace the missing one.
