Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

do my wife's adult kids from a previous mariage have any rights,can inheret,a house that my wife and I(and our 5yr old baby) planing to buy,in case she dies.,we live in NYS.we dont have any will yet, can a will specifically states that her kids have no right to the house(if they have, absent of a will).Her kids never lived with her, or us.

If you and your wife purchase a house as "husband and wife" (as set forth on the deed), by operation of law the house automatically passes to you (and you only).
