Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

If a will designates estate to be split equally between two daughters, and one of the daughters dies before the parent, and leaves behind one child of their own, how are assets then split. The daughter still living has 3 children.

The Will needs to be examined for the specific language of the intent of the Testator.
