Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

will

my father died 7 months ago in Fl. the executer of his will was his brother a resident of FL.His brother died before him now the executer is his brother in NY and it has taken 7 months and I still haven't seen the money he left me.are they charging me for the paper work they are saying they are doing? I am the only child.. thank you

Florida is one of the worst states for probate matters, as every little thing must go through their probate court and be processed by an attorney, which takes more time and adds to the costs. If you have a copy of the Will and the probate information (which Court, who is the Executor and the attorney), and can get it all to me, I have several friends who are estate attorneys in Florida, and I can have them make inquiries for you. Seven months seems like too much time for you to get any information.
