Can a will stipulate token amounts ($10-$100) to be left to specific relatives so that waivers do not have to be sent when the person dies? (Queens, NY)

Leaving token amounts usually identifies relatives that are not to be included in the estate, but need to be mentioned so they are not considered "forgotten" heirs who may be entitled to share in the estate by statute. They may have to be notified of the probate anyway.
