Can I request a copy of a will from the attorney

You do not say if the Will you want is that of someone who is deceased or not? If the person is deceased and the Will has been probated, you can get a copy from the Surrogate in the County where the person resided when he died, for a small fee. If the Will has not yet been probated, it may be because the attorney who has the original has not been informed of the death and has not probated it yet. Once probated, the Surrogate can provide a copy, as aforesaid. If the person is still alive, you may not be able to get a copy from the attorney without the authorization of its maker.
