Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

What happens after the 1 year mark

I was injured at work July 31, 2007. I injured my back and have been going to a PT since Aug 1. I was out of work for 6 months. I returned to work 3 hrs a day 3 days a week. I am now at 3 hrs a day for 5 days a week. I have been going for injectings for my lower back. The first set lasted 6 days. I go back the end of this month for the second set. I have asked my employer what happens Aug 1 when my year is up and I'm told that my workers comp carrier will no longer pay me and my employer can only pay me for the hrs that I am working. Can anyone out there tell me if I have any other options? I may be only working 4-5 hrs at this time and I need a full pay check. I was also told that I would lose my benefits because I wouldn't be working full time. I don't know what to do. I was also told that I may not be able to do my job again. I am a mail person for a school district and I have to carry a lot of packages plus the mail. If I am unable to do my job what happens to me? I don't want to go on disability. I want to continue to work. I love working and I was so depressed when I wasn't workin.
