Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York
My comp case was settled in94 for $250.00 a wk permanent partialdisabillity, had back surgery. I also get SSD. Now my comp carrier is purposing a ten year lump sum settlement & they will keep the medical part open. My law has done little to no work on this as I never wanted to Settle. He is telling me if I take the $135.000.000 he shuold get $20,000.00 out of my money, I don't think it is fair Can I negociate for him to take less. can I dismiss him ? what are my options. I don't want to cheat anyone but I also don't want to get cheated myself. suggestions please.?
Thanks Tommy

That is fair. He is only asking for roughly 15 percent. Besides, I am sure that he had done a lot to get you a PPD beforehand.
