Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

Am I entitled to a settlement?

I have been injured in the same place 3 times. I have had 3 surgeries, and now injured in same place again and looking at another surgery. My injury is low spine. My last injury was only 2 years ago. I was out of work for almost a year (2 weeks shy). There is no telling how long I will be out this time. I live in daily chronic pain. I can't sit too long, stand too long. I have 6 children depending on me. Am I entitled to a settlement? Should I look into SSI or SSDI? What should my next step be?
