Re: injured on job
I am sorry for your terrible injuries. My two brothers and uncle are on the NYFD so I know how physically demanding and how much you guys sacrifice to make us safe. Many people make the mistake of trying to handle workers compensation claims by themselves. I cannot stress this enough "Workers compensation claims are best handled by lawyers experienced in that area of the law." It is vital that all aspects of your case are reviewed and your attorney is fighting hard for every issue of your case. Clearance for certain procedures such as the one you are talking about do not typically take that long but it sometimes happens. Call me, Pasquale Calcagno, Esq., at 1(800)WE-FIGHT for a free consultation and I would be happy to give you some useful advice. You can also visit my website for useful information and resources on Workers Compensation law. Simply go to the search box and type in "Workers Compensation."

Unfortunately, you are not under WC Law and under a different comp-like system. You should talk to your union about this one.
