Yes and you must notify your employer within 30 days under the Workers' Compensation law. This, however, means that you should be treated for your injury and receive compensation for any missed work days. If you have a permanent injury that leaves you disabled, then that's another and more complicated matter.

You do have a case. You may have two cases. First, a workers compensation case that will pay for all of your medical bills and missed time from work. Second, if a third party is responsible for your burns, such as the manufacturer of a defective machine that caused your burns, you can sue them as well for your pain and suffering. This is a complicated matter.
