Re: do i need a lawyer?

Yes.

There is so much that you do not understand. The insurance company doctor or the IME doctor will give an opinion that will benefit the insurance company. In other words, when the insurance company thinks that you should go back to work the IME doctor will make such a finding. How will you fight that? Will you know to request a hearing in front of the Workers Compensation Board? Are you experienced enough to cross examine that doctor and undermine his opinion? Secondly, you may not be getting your full benefits because you do not have a lawyer who can tell you about what you are entitled to. Did you know that you are entitled to a cash settlement above and beyond your workers compensation benefits? I doubt that the insurance company informed you about that!
