Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

Legal rights and time frame

I was injured in 1999.The lawyer I was using never followed through with the case in 2001.The letter I received from the workers compensation judge said no further action at this time.Question is,is there a time limitation on acting on this case.I never signed off on any part of the case.It is a neck injury.

If you are no longer losing time from work due to the neck injury, there is probably nothing further to do. You will continue to get medical coverage for the injury. The case is closed no further action because apparently the info they have is that you are working and have not lost any more time due to the injury. There is usually no "settlement" for a neck injury unless you are still getting paid and there is a finding of permanency.
