Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

section 32 settlement

what would be an appropriate amount to settle w/c case involving thoracic spinal cord injury t-6 thru t-10 permently partialy disabled. also could it be settled with still having like time medical. 8 years of disibility and have reached full medical improvement. take hard prescription drugs to survive through pain. life is over and bills still rise what to do. need second opinion on this issue, I don't know if my lawyer has my best interest at heart or just inexperienced? its a total effort just to write this.

If you want continuing medical treatment (but don't want a lot of money) talk to your lawyer about a PPD. If you want a Section 32 you will not have your medical bills paid by workers compensation any more.

As far as the monetary amount... I cannot give you an answer depends on your aww, the insurance carrier, amount of comp paid, your age possible ssd or medicaid set asides etc. Very complicated.

I would trust your lawyer because no other lawyer will take your case. Why? Becuase regardless of whether or not you keep your lawyer that lawyer will get a huge percentage of any attorney's fee. He did a lot of work and will get paid.
