Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York
Dont understand
A friend of mine took a lumpsum in which he has to pay most back to insurance carrier when excepting lumpsum what are the chances of you having to pay it back?and why?

Do you mean a Section 32 settlement? Did your friends attorney explain a social security set aside? There are many concepts that are hard to explain to a lay person having to do with carrier's taking credit for prior compensation; mandatory liens for federal programs such as social security and other considerations. Without looking at your friends paperwork, I cannot give a definite answer.
