Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

work injury compensation

I used to work as a lifeguard in one of the nyc beaches in for about 8 years. In 1997 we had a sand storm and I went out to rescue people a the point of a surf board landed on my right foot. I was taken to the hospital and treated, i was out of work for about a week or so. It is now 2008 and I'm having difficulties with my foot. I can't run without feeling any pains. Am I entitle to anything? Should I pursue a lawsuit against nyc for pain and suffering?

Re: work injury compensation

You have two years to file a claim with the New York State Workers Compensation Board and 30 days to give notice to your employer, Assuming that you filed a claim back then and that the case was accepted you may be entitled to a schedule loss of use award $$$$$$.

My office is located in Westchester County and I am only a short distance away from the Upper West Side.

If you or your employer filed for compensation back in 2007 then write me back. I could help you recieve the compensation that you deserve.
