herniated disc in thoracic spine doctor says to dangerous to do surgery out of work for three months went back to work with restrictions will i still get a slu award or settlement

No you will not. You can only get a SLU award to an injury to the extremities (feet, hands, arms, etc.).

Unfortunately, I do not think that the carrier will be amenable to any settlement. But, it does not hurt to ask them.
