Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York
workers comp payments
iam at settlement stage with my case,but my lawyer says that payments i allready recived will be deducted from my final compensation when on other hand a friend of mine has the same case but different lawyer and they did'nt deducted any compensation he allready recieved.Are they supposed to deduct any comp. from my final settlement?

Absolutely, if you had a schedule loss of use. Your friend may have had a "PPD" or a "PTD" or maybe a "lump sum settlement" or a "Section 32" settlement.
Next time, I would not question your workers' compensation lawyer. This site is for people who are not represented by lawyers.
