Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

I will soon have last Comp Hearing.
My Attorney has asked for $1100. I will be receiving bi-weekly checks for the rest of my life. Can I have my attorney accept the first checks
(not quite six weeks) to pay him off rather than $50/per check over a 2 year time frame?
