workman's comp case
If I decide to drop an existing w.c. case, will my insurance still cover my surgery that I have not had, yet?

If the insurance is through the workers compensation, the 'yes', the insurance will not pay for your pending operation.
If the insurance is not through your workers compensation, then I cannot give you a definitive answer. it depends on whether the insurance company defines WC as an alternative insurer with priority. It it does, then you will lose the assistance from the insurance company.
