Redundancy
If my contract specifying no compensation shall be paid in the event of redundancy has run out on 20/04/07 and there has been no new contract issued am I entiled to compensation? I was made redundant on 19/05/07

It depends on the form of the original agreement. Did the employer arrnage for renewal of the agreement. It may be possible to argue that if you continued working after your original agreement expired then the conditions of that agreement continue, in which case you could claim for redundancy.
This however would need to be tested. You are advised to engage a lawyer to review the terms of your employment in order to answer this question.
