Legal Question in Family Law in New Zealand (Aotearoa)

would like a divorce from my husband who lives in the Cook Islands

husband and I been separated for 21/2 years he moved to the cook islands and i would like a divorce from him we both are willing but im not sure if hes telling the truth as he is a compulsive liar, do i need his signature and how much does it cost... thankyou

If you wish to divorce by consent then you need his signature on the application to the Family Court.

Although you can do this yourselves without a lawyer, if you are not sure that you can trust your husband you must get a lawyer to represent you and to protect your interests.
