Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Nigeria
i av an idea in form of a new service that i want to sell to a telecoms company in nigeria and am wondering what kind of legal protection i can have for the innovation/service

If this new service is an invention, you might consider filing for patent protection or protection under the Copyright Act if software based.
In selling/proposing your idea, you might want to consider entering into a non-disclosure agreement with the telecoms company.
