Legal Question in Banking Law in North Carolina
collection letter from credit card
My daughter just received a letter from collection agency. She cosigned a loan with an exboyfriend when she was 18 and had no job. He had a job but no credit. He purchased a computer and he has not paid for it $2000. And now they have all of a sidden been calling her harrassing her on the phone. This has just happened the past week. She was not billed prior to this not once. They are not seeking to him for any money just her. She is a full time student in college and is working part time to pay for this. She doesn't have the money to pay this. What can she do?

Re: collection letter from credit card
She's about to learn a $2000 lesson.
She CAN take him to court and try to make him pay for it, but she co-signed for it, she's responsible.
