Legal Question in Bankruptcy in North Carolina
someone wrote me a bad check for $7000.00. I went and got a criminal warrant out. Since then he has taken bankruptcy. If I go to court for the bankruptcy does that over-ride my warrant?

No. It would stop any liability on the civil side, but not criminal. Bankruptcy does not discharge any criminal penalties or violations. It might be up to the district attorney to decide whether to proceed or not. You may be able to file a claim with the bankruptcy court so that a discharge will not be granted as to this particular debt.
