On top of that, to sue the store, you would have to show that the actions by the casheir were either resonably within the scope of her employment or done with the full consent of the company. If the conduct was so outrageous that the company couldn't have foreseen that she would have acted in such a manner, it is unlikey that you could sue the store...although you could still proceed against her. Her conduct does sound outrageous...she gave you a check and then claimed you stole it...
