Legal Question in Business Law in North Carolina
a cashier stapled a check to the back of my receipt and i did not see it then she called the police and said i stole it can i file a lawsuit against the store

You can file a lawsuit, but you need to show how your were harmed by the act. On top of that, to sue the store, you would have to show that the actions by the casheir were either resonably within the scope of her employment or done with the full consent of the company. If the conduct was so outrageous that the company couldn't have foreseen that she would have acted in such a manner, it is unlikey that you could sue the store...although you could still proceed against her. Her conduct does sound outrageous...she gave you a check and then claimed you stole it...
