Legal Question in Business Law in North Carolina

is it legal for a manager of a company to approach an empolyee(her brother) and accuse him of molesting her step daughter. itsnt that sexual harrasment or a hostle work enviornment. He stiil works there but itsnt there some type of law being broken?? Now his reputation has been ruined
