Legal Question in Business Law in North Carolina
nsf payroll check
I have a nsf payroll check from a couple weeks ago. My question is the owner that owes this debt has taken his name off the business/franchise a little over a week ago. Is he still liable for this debt or is the new owners liable? If he is liable instead of the new owners, how can I get my money w/out a lot of hassle?

Yes, he can still be liable. The fastest way to get it resolved is for you to make a complaint to the NC Department of Labor. The number is 800-NC-LABOR and their website is http://www.nclabor.com/wh/wh.htm
