Legal Question in Business Law in North Carolina

I am a printing salesman and had a non compete with my previous company. one year after working for this company, my employer said that he would no longer pay me the commission rate that we had agreed on and lowered my commission rate. i continued to work for him under the new agreement but was laid off after my second year with this company. is my non compete still binding?

Any attorney will say you need to show the signed version of the non compete agreement to a lawyer for a legal review. To be enforceable at all, a non compete must be reasonable in (a) prohibited scope of activity; (b) length of time; and (c) geographic scope. The change in your commission rate will probably not affect the non compete. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
