Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in North Carolina

Hi my husband works for a town. I put on the internet where the mayor and board members miss used town employees and equipment for there personal use. My husband had nothing to do with what I did. Can they fire him for this

Unless he has a contract, employees can be fired for any reason other than discrimination in NC.
