Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in North Carolina
My son whom is 18 yrs. old recently left home on bad terms, and says he will never move back. Do I have the legal right to remove his belongings from my home and put into a storage building (on our property) where there will be no damage done to, so he doesn't have an excuse to come into my home on his own leisure?

Yes. Your responsibility is to store the items using reasonable care that they are not lost or damaged. If he wants them back, however, you must give them to him. There is a legal way for you to obtain the right to sell them for storage if he doesn't pay a reasonable fee for that. Consult your attorney or the small claims court in your area.
