Bid on a vacation package through an auction site on the internet. The travel company which submitted the package has informed us of a deviation to this package. The ship will be dry docked during the time we requested the travel dates; our airline tickets our in our possession. To change dates now we will spend approx. $250 more to receive less. Not one of the companies will take responsibility nor give refund. What recourse to we have?

Re: Internet Auction Purchase

Ship drydocking is usually scheduled long in advance unless there is need for an extraordinary repair. So, the travel agency at least should have known of the problem. Whether or not you can get a refund, or compensation, depends on the terms of your travel contract. Although it is not worth your individual $250 to hire a lawyer to deal with this, there may be a potential class action on behalf of all of those affected. We would be glad to talk with you further about this; our toll free number is 800-537-6930.
